Every Little Bit Counts!

Buddy is my British Golden Retriever. He has recently become ill and my family no longer has the funds to continue treating him. Currently, his condition is treatable; however, the length of stay, intravenous medications, and repeated lab work will run well into the thousands. Without IV antibiotics, the infection in his hepatic system will continue to consume his organs and he will become septic and die.  The medical staff at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine has been diligent in his care but without the proper treatment and tests, Buddy’s prognosis is poor.
Buddy has served our family and his community proudly. He was brought into our home as my mother’s companion canine, which he far excelled in his purpose. He earned his Canine Good Citizen and later became a therapy dog, providing the same unconditional love and healing attention to the elderly and children of all ages. His interaction with special needs children was especially heartwarming and rewarding. To this day, his favorite activity is to visit playgrounds and have the children swarm him. He exhibits that wonderful Golden smile that the breed is so known for. His gentle nature has won him many friends and captured the hearts of so many along his life’s journey. But I am not ready for that journey to end.
Please find it in your hearts to help this sweet boy. He has given so much of himself, I feel deeply honored and passionate in taking this opportunity to step up and return that favor.  It is now my turn to make a difference for him. The thought of losing him is unimaginable and I know that your help, however small, will make a huge difference in his life.
Thank you,
Katie and Buddy
